Placenta Encapsulation

I offer 2 methods of placenta encapsulation. They are the Traditional Chinese Method (Steamed), and the Raw Method.

Tradional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has used the placenta as a powerful medicine for thousands of years. The process for TCM is by first washing, and then steaming the placenta in herbs. Lemon and ginger are most commonly used. After being steamed, the placenta is cut into thin pieces and dehydrated. Once dehydration has taken place, the placenta is then ground into a fine powder, and added into Vegetable capsules.

The Raw Method is much like the Traditional preparation, but without the steaming in herbs. The placenta is washed and then cut into pieces raw. The raw pieces go in the dehydrator for 24 hours. Once it is fully dehydrated, the pieces are ground into powder, and put into vegetable capsules. The raw method is extremely high in oxytocin and progesterone. It has a significant increase in energy and capsules given compared to TCM.

Benefits of Placenta Encapsulation:

  • Help to balance your hormones
  • Replenish depleted iron levels
  • Assist the uterus to return to its pre-pregnancy state
  • Reduce post natal bleeding
  • Increase breast milk production
  • Increase your energy levels

*I will come to the hospital and pick up the placenta after baby is born, if my doula services are not included. If a fridge is not in your room, please bring with a cooler and a few gallon freezer sized Ziplock bags to keep the placenta cold in until I arrive*

It will typically take me 24-36 hours to encapsulate a placenta.  I will deliver the pills to your home as soon as they are ready.
